the last days of summer

it's sunny outside, although the air is a bit chilly. these are the last days of summer and soon winter will set in. i ought to be in the beach, but i still have to find the energy to pack towels, swimsuits, books, magazines, cameras, snacks for a day of lounging at the seashore. plus i don't have the nerve yet to ask a former special friend to drive me to our favourite beach, which is an an hour's drive away from central. he is the only one i know in central who drives a proper car. we are still awkward with each other. we have not talked much since i came back. we had coffee once, but we were both quiet. chos.

i just finished cleaning up my flat. i realised i haven't done this thorough cleaning in two months or more. the last time i did so was when the gay squad (tito mon, erik and jimmy) was in town.
it's my favourite household chore, by the way, cleaning, scrubbing, changing the sheets and pillow cases. wiping dust and dirt. putting up fresh flowers on vases. dusting off magazines, books and discs.
in my past lyf i must have been a cleaning lady in a palace. that's what i luv most in watching downton abbey, how those household helps go about their day, cleaning, cooking, gossiping. i can, lyk totally relate and wish i could join them. though part of me wants to socialise with the true royals upstairs.

later on, i will go to the street market to buy fresh sampaguita. i luv these tiny flowers, they're luvly to look at and they smell so nice. lyk a newly bathed baby. don't you think?

i luv decorating a room, a house, a garden. i wanted to study interior decoration in college, but my practical mother (who then ran a successful rattan business - selling long, round, smooth rattan poles to furniture makers and exporters in cebu, quezon and manille) just asked me to take up business administration so i could help her later on. as it happened, after i took up the cpa board exam, her business went bankrupt due to a series of unfortunate accidents, the last of which was when the truck used to haul rattans fell off a cliff. sadly, the insurance had already expired and she forgot to renew it.

if i get lazy to go to the beach, i might do a marathon session of gossip gurl season five on blue ray. i know it has become boring and frankly, nate is no longer as gorgeous as when i first met him in season one.

serena still wears those fabulous outfits (shoes, bags, accessories), but i can no longer wear them. i have grown sooo huge. double chos! and the dramah queen blair? duh?! and chuck? he is still fugly and trying so very hard to act debonair and rich lyk the oh so gorgeous and fabulous jfk jr.

so i might end up reading christopher hitchen's god is not great: how religion poisons everything (serious daw!). or julian barnes' funny the pedant in the kitchen. i just finished ian mcewan's sweet tooth and it's one big bore of a book. overhyped! stay away from it. no chos this time.

&&&&&&

if not, then i might as well go to the beach. ahhhhhhhhh, decisions, decisions, decisions!!

stay on the shed and read.

happy weekend, bitches, fairies, princesses, wannabes, ladies, pa-ladies, gentlemen and pa-minthas.
