i always thought thirteen is my lucky number

it isn't really all that bad. the year that's about to end in a few days -- two thousand and thirteen. but no matter how hard i try to make it all sound good, i have to concede that this isn't really my year.
mahatma gandah, but of course, the drama queen, is her usual exaggerated self when she mentioned in an interview with mademoiselle that two thousand thirteen happens to be her unlucky year. good thing that her alter ego, anna kirinina landifa is on hand to quickly dispute mahatma gandah's claims.
but seriously folks, unlike the previous years when everything comes easy, this year is a tad sad. first off, i have no regular paycheck. so that means controlling my spending. the good thing about it is that i learned how to live within my budget. something that was hard for me to do, especially during my university days when i usually spent my allowance for the whole month on the first week. bad!

anyway, enough said. let me share, if you care, the beautiful memories that i had with a year that's about to end with lovely friends and family. let these pictures do the talking.

&&&&&&&&

bonding with my beautiful nephews and nieces in tacloban, manille and cagayan. riding the calesa, having selfies on my laptop before we go to sleep, watching a movie, swimming the whole day at the pool. having coffee at the mall. enjoying the sunset along roxas boulevard.
watching with amusement my almost teen-age nephew flirt with a young girl at the pool.
these are all priceless.

&&&&&&&&&

meeting new friends in banaue, sagada and baguio. getting high, getting drunk, getting lost. falling in love for a day or two.

crashing a wedding in sagada. then dancing a tribal wedding dance on the streets with the locals until the wee hours of the morning.

waking up with a naked stranger, then wondering where i was and who i was with.

dancing with baguio's young gorgeous things at the city's hottest bar. recapturing those days when i was young, carefree, wild and felt attractive. chos!

***************

driving up to tagaytay with my best friends on a whim. savouring the coffee at the cozy bag of beans, which gets more romantic at night under the bright full moon.
enjoying the view at taal vista. braving the cold night looking for a cool place to get drunk. and hopefully, to meet local boys.
eating dirty ice cream. flirting with the cute hotel staff. and the shy dirty ice cream boy in josephine's.
getting a massage. buying fruits at the palengke. getting lost on the way to the palengke. eating tawilis and other native delicacies at the public market.
visiting a bee farm. buying products made of honey.

**************

rekindling ties with old, reliable friends.

that's all!
(watch out for part two of this post. triple chos!!)
