lyk crazy

i was horrified after reading online an article about a model who had her friend abducted by her boyfriend to "teach her  a lesson" for spreading rumours (cheezmeez) about her. the victim (may she rest in peace) ended up dead from gunshots.
it was horrible. abominable. a senseless way to die.
what happened to just confronting each other over cosmopolitan or martinis as most chic ladies i know do when faced with such a sticky situation? or better yet, just unfriend each other on facebook. it's fast, easy and cheap. no hangovers the next day and it won't add lines on your face. say?

@@@@@@

rumours are part of our lives -- whether you are an excessively highly paid model slash actress or a lowly fish hawker at the wet market. whether you wear the pointy manolo or the reliable bakya made of wood and rubber to work, cheezmeez will follow you. whether you are the lyf of the party or the uninvited token wallflower, people will talk about you. it's a national past time. talk. gossip. we just have to learn to live with them.
as a member of the royal family in the far far city of cowavongga, where google earth has yet to discover, i eat rumours for breakfast, cheezmeez for merienda, gossip for lunch, intrigues for tea time and senseless talks for dinner. can you imagine if i have to teach all these people a lesson or two how crowded the memorial park would be?
if you don't have the heart to confront someone for spreading rumours about you, then your best defense is just to ignore them (the cheezmeez and the cheezmozas).
anyway, if you are not guilty and the gossip is just that, plain gossip, then sooner or later the truth will come out and that's your best revenge.
or just follow what the nuns in our school used to tell us - just pray for their enlightenment.

indeed people who spread rumours are just that - people. they are just lyk you, capable of being envious, jealous and in their moment(s) of weakness, resort to inventing lies in the hope of putting you down. but as maricel soriano, snooky serna and soon to be national artistes vilma santos and nora aunor have proven a countless times, you can't put a damn good woman down.

########

in the end, it's how you deal with the rumour mongers and the nasty gossips that will define who you are: whether you really are one classy fairy whom everyone should emulate or the lowlifer that everyone has painted you to be.
it's your choice.
take it from this former queen who has been there and done that (pardon the cliche!): sit back and relax.
that's all!
