for all we know
despite the boredom that slowly invades my entire being lyk an unwelcome, incurable virus, i will always treasure my stay in hong kong.
yes, it can be dizzying, tiring, exhausting, irritating, nauseating, boring, with the fast paced lyf, tiny flats, crowded mtrs, expensive restaurants and bars, and a pretty limited options for the night lyf. but it is also dazzling, exciting, soothing, fabulous, sublime, invigorating, challenging because there is always something new to look forward to.
despite its size, the former british colony never runs out of things to tickle your fancy. and of course, the public transport system, despite the crowds during rush hour, is very efficient, safe, clean, orderly, hygienic and affordable. that's one of the major, major reasons why i luv hk.
as a concrete jungle habitue, i luv its sparkling shopping malls - ifc, landmark and pacific place. i luv the always fresh, well conceptualized window displays. the nytlyf, which can be vapid at times, is still way better than say, greenbelt or the fort. there are lots of choices too. want to be artsy and bohemian? head off to the less known places in soho or sheung wan. want something fabulous? then try the offerings at the five star hotels. want something down-to-earth, then lkf is for you. if you are looking for the young and the fabulous, try the bars along wyndham (pulp, tivo, azzure) or go up to dragon i. want to see the gorgeous queens and the fairies in their saturday's best? they are somewhere in zoo, propaganda or in the hidden, inner streets of soho.
as if you care (scram if you don't), here's a glimpse of what my lyf has been in this city that seldom sleeps, where the lights never go off and where money will always be the currency. chos!
