things to luv about on the road, the movie

forget about the story. you are better off reading the book (which does not offer much of a story either. it's more of a collection of travel sketches, impressions about the people and places that jack kerouac disguised as sal paradise have met and fell in luv with and even hated.) having said that, the movie adaptation by walter salles (an expert on road movies having directed the motorcyle diaries) is luvable, dreamy, seedy, nostalgic and brings us back to the time when sex, drugs and jazz ruled while a generation of lost souls, young poets and intellectuals wandered around looking for their center and refusing to be part of the boring status quo. the film received mixed reviews, but i luv it. here are the things that i especially luv about the movie (beware - some spoilers follow): - garrett hedlund. ruggedly handsome, sexy, unafraid. a true adventurer. his character is the soul of the movie (and of countless books written by jack) and garrett succeeded in bringing ...
