in the spirit of decadence

a bitchy friend asked: why don't you post photos of your parties, dinners, and out of town trips on your facebook and blogs anymore?

with a raised eyebrow, the effortlessly fabulous mahatma gandah replied: excuse me, i seldom do. but even then, i removed them right away because i don't want to induce envy among the trying hard cretins who have always wanted and coveted what i have (and tried but failed to emulate what i do). to answer your question, i leave it to those social climbers to do all of that. to post their ugly mugshots, photos of their paid for by sponsors gifts and trips on facebook because that's the only place where they can ever feel alive and relevant!

kidding. hahahahaha!

seriously, i seldom go out these days. i just don't have the patience to be stranded and bored in hours and hours and hours of traffic jam. it's just not worth it! thus, i have been turning down invites especially if the venues are in quezon city, ortigas, greenhills, the fort and makati. i am simply contented hanging out in malate, and in the nearby harbour square, having coffee, reading a book and enjoying the sunset.

if you want to see me and be with me, then you have no other choice but to fly into my comfort zone. otherwise, stop the pretensions that you missed me and go kiss someone else's smelly ass.

of course i will make an exception if the person who is inviting and the event where i am going are worthy of my precious time. these days, i charged so much for my time. chos!

just like last weekend when the country's hottest and newest boy band -- men of manila -- but of course humbly asked me to lend glamour to their simple get together, a way to celebrate what they have achieved so far since staging their first ever concert at the music museum on july twenty six, when throngs of people trooped to greenhills to witness the birth of MoM despite the rains and floods.

indeed, in less than half a year, the boy band had accomplished so much. first, their launching concert was sold out and landed in some of the country's biggest newspapers, notably the manila bulletin and the manila times. then the boys were featured in the country's top newspapers and online news portals. even the country's highly-respected entertainment journalist, ricky lo, and the doyen of fashion journalism, ms. charlize, devoted whole columns to this emerging set of talented heartthrobs.

so who am i to refuse them? double chos!

so amid the threats of rain, a heart wrenching traffic, and other inconveniences associated with traveling in this corruption plagued, congested, polluted metropolis, i joined wealthy friend in going to quezon city just to be with the boys, who all looked trim, gorgeous and fresh as the day they were born. apparently, they received a "shape up or ship out" memo from their gorgeous producer. fab!!!

of course, this being christmas, we had an excuse to be decadent. so we feasted on a sumptuous five-star food catered specially for the event, an overflow of pricey champagne and beer, and guests from the who's who in the local entertainment and fashion industries.

aside from eating, drinking, and exchanges of pleasantries, the event was capped by a "beerpong" tournament,  where the boys played with so much enthusiasm and determination that i was reminded of my university days, ages ago, in some exclusive colleges, where these games were staged like an olympic event amid booze, loud music, long hair, weed, and what have you. shhhhhh!

because it was a casual party, the boys stripped their usual formal wear (black suit, bowties) and donned shirts, shorts, sandos. but nobody complained. they looked even sexier that way. triple chos!

anyway, some fotos for your satisfaction.

that's all! have fun fairies, princesses, bitches, witches, queen, pa-queens, freeloaders, social climbers and wannabes.
