halloween in hong kong
almost every street in the party central, from soho's staunton street, down to hollywood road and wyndham street, and further down to lan kwai fong, people dressed as elvis, elves, marilyn monroe, ghouls, nurses, doctors, cleopatra, pirates, zombies, dracula, super heroes, angels, devils, witches, princesses, drink, eat, flirt, dance, smoke and party like there is no tomorrow.
even children also wearing costumes accompanied by their parents join the fray.
because of the huge crowd, the government would close these streets from traffic, while cops in uniforms are all over the place.
the halloween party is just the start of the two-month long festivities that usually culminate during the new year's eve celebration. then after another month, comes the chinese new year festivities.

of course, bars in central always find a way to come up with gimmicks to attract customers. but it is during the halloween when the crowd swells and the party becomes wilder. the streets of staunton, wyndham, hollywood, and d'aguilar in lan kwai fong become a massive dance floor where people in their flamboyant costumes rock all night long.
being a night creature, i always look forward to the halloween parties, where i, along with thousands of others, litter the streets, hop from bar to bar, flirt, dance, and then go home exhausted.
to give you an idea how fun the halloween is in hong kong, i am posting some pictures here.
